Rangers superstar wants to join a new team and transfer James Tavernier.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst wants to reunite with Rangers captain James Tavernier in Turkey.

The 49-year-old Dutchman took over as Besiktas’ new manager last week.

The seasoned coach signed a two-year contract with the option to extend it until the summer of 2027 after being fired by the Ibrox club in November 2022.

Besiktas last won the top division in Turkey in 2021, and they finished sixth in the Super Lig the previous season.

In order to fully commit to his latest managerial position, the former Scottish Premiership manager will begin by hiring new players in front of the 2024–2025 season.

Moreover, it appears that Van Bornckhorst is being linked to a move for Tavernier, his reliable captain at Ibrox, according to Turkish media.

In addition to wanting to sign Ajax star Steven Berghuis, media personality Bulent Uslu alleges a GvB has urged club executives to arrange with Tavernier.” His post on X reads as follows: “Giovanni van Bronckhorst requested the Beşiktaş management to transfer right-backs James Tavernier and Steven Berghuis, who play for Rangers.”

There are other former Tavernier managers who have been connected to a summertime raid on the 32-year-old. Both Connor Goldson and Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia are rumored to be keeping an eye on his circumstances.

However, Philippe Clement does not want to lose any of the players in the summer transfer window since he wants both of them to be a part of his plans for the upcoming campaign.

“Yes, that is my expectation—that they will be here next season,” Clement remarked. “If my players are out of contract, have questions, or want to leave, they come talk to me. That is the relationship we have.

We won’t train too much if I have to talk to every player about every rumour.
