Wolves want to steal Atletico Madrid’s young Portuguese talent.

In order to strengthen their team during the off-season, Wolves has focused on defeating Atletico Madrid in order to sign a promising young Portuguese player.

Because of the strong relationship between owner Jeff Shi and super-agent Jorge Mendes, Wolves have made it a practice to sign players from Portugal since their promotion to the Premier League in 2018.

At Molineux, players such as Pedro Neto, Diogo Jota, Ruben Neves, and Joao Moutinho have all flourished in the Premier League.

The team was motivated to aim for a top half finish by Gary O’Neill’s impressive debut season in charge, but they eventually faltered to finish in 14th place.

Wolves have reportedly made an attempt to sign Braga winger Rodrigo Gomes, according to a report in the Portuguese media.

The bid has been perceived as something of a desperate attempt to sign him, given he is supposedly close to clinching a move to the Wanda Metropolitano. The €15 million (£13 million) offer matches that which came from Atletico.

Though it’s unclear if the Premier League team would be able to seal the purchase, Braga is aiming to escalate the price through a bidding battle.

Adding a new attacker could fuel unwelcome rumors that Wolves will need to offload important players this summer to stay under Premier League Profit and Sustainability regulations.

While Neto has previously been strongly linked to both Newcastle and Arsenal, Matheus Cunha was recently linked to a move to Manchester United.

However, O’Neil claimed last season that no significant assets needed to be sold. According to O’Neil, “there were some positive bits about what we might not have to do as a club.” “Compared to last summer, when we had to sell players, we are in a lot better position. O’Neil: Wolves don’t have to sell their finest players. “Nobody needs to be sold to.

This summer, we could sell no players if we didn’t want to see them. But, as I’ve already stated, the revenue stream (from owners Fosun) will be smaller than it was in the past, when we could sign players for as little as £30 million or £40 million without having to sell anyone.

That is not going to occur. However, we have some assets out on loan that will either return and strengthen the group or return and be sold to allow us to conduct some business.

However, anyone we really don’t want to lose can remain here. We’ve had conversations, at least the first one, and we have a clear idea of what we’re attempting to do.
