Thomas Galdames speaks out when the Rangers submit an offer to sign him from Godoy Cruz.
Thomas Galdames, a Rangers target, has spoken out about his future at Godoy Cruz, ahead of a possible move to Ibrox this summer. The Gers turned their attention to Gonzalo Conti, a talented left-back who has been linked with various European clubs.
The Chilean has now spoken out about his future in Argentina, as transcribed by Derek Clark on X, following his team’s match against Estudiantes on Tuesday (4 June). He stated, “Nothing is known yet; I have a contract until December.” I always wanted to play in Europe. I want to take this market gently and leave something for the club. I am extremely grateful to Godoy Cruz. Rangers need to wait to sign Thomas Galdames. The Chilean appears to want to continue in Argentina, pointing out that his current contract runs until December.
This may provide Rangers with the chance to sign the defender on a free transfer or even a pre-agreement this summer.
With that being said, they may still be able to tempt Godoy Cruz into selling him this summer while they can get a transfer fee.The Gers have been hoping to sign a center back ahead of the transfer window, and even after Jose Cordoba left to Norwich City, the desire remains.
He is a muscular presence who will undoubtedly benefit the Rangers’ back line, especially given his ability to play both on the left and in the center.
Philippe Clement hopes to sign Galdames this summer and avoid being outbid by another team. If the Light Blues can persuade the Chilean to go to Ibrox, their summer may be off to a flying start.
