Rangers transfer news, with an update on Brighton attacker Abdallah Sima.
Brighton are set to test the market before committing to Rangers target Abdallah Sima, according to Rangers Review. According to the news site, sources at Ibrox believe that because they want to transfer him permanently, they will try to get the most money for the 22-year-old player.
The Gers are said to want to re-sign the Senegal international after a successful loan season in 2023/24. Rangers may end up paying more than expected for Abdallah Sima. To permanently obtain Sima from Brighton, Gers may need to boost their financial commitment, which may take weeks of discussions.
The Premier League club’s decision to wait for a new manager before deciding on Sima’s future shows that they respect him highly and will likely want a large cost for his services.
The 22-year-old forward’s impressive performances during his loan spell at Ibrox, scoring 15 goals before an injury disrupted his season, have increased his market value.
Brighton, who hold an option for an additional year on Sima’s contract, are likely to test the market to maximise the value of a permanent transfer by offering him to other clubs and there remains the possibility of him not returning to Ibrox.
Philippe Clement has indicated interest in keeping Sima, but any deal will be contingent on Brighton’s demands and Gers’ ability to match those financial parameters. Given Sima’s great experience in Glasgow and his desire to stay, the club may need to invest more to retain his services in the long run.
