Four Lads are skeptical whether Rangers’ reported £5.1 million deal for Rapid Bucharest’s Albion Rrahmani is accurate. The Gers are set to compete with Slavia Prague to capture the striker ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Gers are preparing a £5.1 million bid for the Kosovan, which would make him the most expensive player in Rapid Bucharest history. The Four Lads Had A Dream podcast has now responded on X (6 June), implying that the interest is genuine but that the agreement has not yet moved forward. They added, “I’m not sure if we’re bidding that much or if we’re really in it for him.

“If I get confirmation of anything I post it but at this moment I have a lot of speculation and nothing concrete.”

Kemar Roofe has left, and Philippe Clement may try to sign a new striker this summer. Rrahmani is an unknown entity among Rangers fans, and there is little doubt that spending £5 million is a significant cost for Gers to play.

Given the club’s existing strikers, Danilo and Cyriel Dessers, this is a lot to spend on a striker unless one of them quits. This would leave a significant vacuum in Clement’s squad, necessitating the problem being resolved during the window, and Rrahmani would make sense.
