Rangers “hold talks” about Albion Rrahmani’s transfer, with an agent-set asking price following their meeting in Mexico.

Nils Koppen, the director of football recruitment at Rangers, is said to have discussed bringing Albion Rrahmani to Ibrox this summer with the player’s representatives.

Record Sport recently disclosed that Rrahmani has been well observed by Ibrox executives, and it appears that the 23-year-old will be departing Rapid Bucharest this summer following a fruitful year in which the Kosovo international scored 17 goals.

However, it seems that the possible moves have advanced as Rangers are rumored to have had discussions with the player’s agency during a transfer summit in Cancun earlier this month.

It is said that Koppen met with KT Management, who represent Albion Rrahmani, on June 3 and 4 during TransferRoom’s convention in Mexico.

The striker is being “heavily courted” by the Light Blues, according to Digi Sport, despite interest from teams nationwide.

Although the Romanian team is hoping to secure a record sale at about £6.8 million, it has been reported that Slavia Prague is willing to provide a sum in the range of £2.5 million to capture the player.

The Scottish Premiership is reportedly the “favourite team” to sign a contract at this time, with Rangers prepared to “double” Slavia’s offer, which is said to be worth £5.1 million.

Victor Angelescu, the CEO of Rapid, has publicly acknowledged that a sale is anticipated this summer.

“There is a 75–80% chance that Rrahmani will leave,” he said to Digi Sport. We have to get ready for this eventuality.” This summer, Philippe Clement has moved rapidly to bring in Jefte from Fluminese.

Additionally, Mohamed Diomande and Oscar Cortes have also made their loan agreements permanent.
