A reliable source offers Lions supporters an update on Jameson Williams.

After only a few months, the Detroit Lions’ situation has undoubtedly shifted.

After spending the most of the previous three decades as awful or average, they finished 12-5 last season and were just minutes short from earning a Super Bowl berth.

Expectations are therefore rather high for the upcoming season as well.

The Lions are hoping Jameson Williams steps up and increases their offensive ceiling, even though they have one of the best young wide receivers in the NFL in Amon-Ra St. Brown and a solid tight end in Sam LaPorta.

According to Ari Meirov, who also released a video, head coach Dan Campbell stated that Williams has been putting in a lot of work and that “he is a man on a mission.”

Williams hasn’t lived up to the Lions’ expectations, at least not yet, despite the team trading three draft picks for him on draft day 2022.

He played in only six games as a rookie and caught one pass for 41 yards. On 24 receptions, he gained 354 yards and two touchdowns in his most recent season.

Williams is the player who needs to step up for Detroit to have an offensive line that is unstoppable this autumn and winter, according to Pro Football Focus.

Williams did seem to have the capacity to be a real playmaking danger alongside St. Brown, as seen by his 79 receptions for 1,572 yards and 15 touchdowns during his junior year as a member of the University of Alabama Crimson Tide.

Although some believe Detroit doesn’t have much potential for development with Jared Goff starting at quarterback, if Williams improves dramatically, they might find themselves planning to attend Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.
