Viktor Tsygankov, a winger for Girona, and Arsenal have been in contact regarding a potential summer transfer.
As per AS, it seems that the Gunners and AC Milan would be engaged in a competition for the Ukrainian winger.
Tsygankov impressed for Girona last season, with eight goals and seven assists in 30 games that were crucial to their Champions League qualification, and the tabloid claims that he is now “in the world showcase.”
This has generated interest in him, and although he is concentrating on winning Euro 2024, he has instructed his agent to ignore any transfer rumors, clubs are still making moves behind his back.
Among them is Arsenal, who have already “approached and probed” his representatives regarding a possible summer transfer. AC Milan has followed suit.
They’ve been told that if the player is to depart Girona, which is by no means a guarantee as he’s made it clear previously that he’s more than happy with the Spanish club, he will need Champions League football. That’s something Arsenal can absolutely offer.
Girona, on the other hand, would love to hang onto the winger and started negotiations in January to raise the player’s €30 million release clause and prolong his contract.
However, that never came to an end because the player preferred to concentrate on finishing the season with Girona, and now Arsenal and other teams are speculating.
Mikel Arteta reportedly approached the player’s agents because he is “in love with the player” and thinks he could fit in well with Arsenal’s current lineup. A trade might happen in the upcoming weeks.
