Following the signing of Tosin Adarabioyo, Chelsea is “unlikely” to make a move for a £50,000-per-week Wolves player.

Despite expressing interest in the past, Chelsea is reportedly “unlikely” to try and sign one of Wolves’ star players this summer.

Although the transfer market is still closed, there have already been multiple rumors that players are being linked to teams other than Molineux.

There were rumors over the weekend that Manchester United was eager to sign Matheus Cunha. And there’s still conjecture regarding Pedro Neto’s future.

Another player who has received some attention is Max Kilman, who participated in every minute of Wolves’ 2023–2024 Premier League season.

Naturally, Julen Lopetegui, the manager of West Ham United, is said to admire the captain of Molineux. However, there have also been rumors that Chelsea is interested in the 27-year-old.

Max Kilman is someone Chelsea “likes,” but they are “unlikely” to move on the Wolves star.

Last season Kilman was a key player for Gary O’Neil.

The Englishman had just come in as Lopetegui’s successor and needed a smooth transition.

Kilman, who had taken over as captain after Ruben Neves left for Saudi Arabia, allowed him to obtain that.

Kilman started 2023–24 off shakily but played excellently in the middle of Wolves’ campaign. However, he began to lose shape toward the finish, as did most of his colleagues. A weekly salary of £50,000 Kilman is a player that clubs have been observing for a while.

Among those teams is Chelsea, although according to Give Me Sport, the Blues are “unlikely” to pursue him this summer. Since they signed Tosin Adarabioyo, they are now looking for another center defender.

New manager Enzo Maresca likes Ousmane Diomande from Sporting CP and Kilman, but a move for the Wolves star is considered ‘unlikely’.

Wolves should only sell for a huge fee

Kilman is therefore unlikely to be acquired by Chelsea, but it’s possible that a different team, such as Manchester United or West Ham, will make a move.

Kilman played in the right back position for Bruno Lage’s team in 2023–24, but it’s possible that he performed better in 2021–22. Since he is a very talented center back in the Premier League, Wolves should only consider paying a high price for him.

The team may want to ask for more money than the £53 million record they received from Manchester City in exchange for Matheus Nunes.

Kilman is ultimately the captain and possesses some highly sought-after qualities that many clubs will find appealing.

He is unlike others because of his ball-laying and ability to carry the ball out of defense, so Wolves will need to make a big demand if they want him to go this summer.

They are able to do so because the player inked a new deal in August of last year.
