A fantastic Friday night finish sees Celtic star score his sixth goal in nine games while on loan.

Johnny Kenny, a youthful Celtic star, is back on the scoresheet in Ireland after scoring his team’s most recent goal on Friday night against Drogheda United.

The forward has eight goals this season, six of which have come in his last nine league games for Rovers.

He’s climbing the division scoring lists and will be looking to demonstrate his full potential as a Bhoys prospect with a successful summer campaign.

His goal on Friday night showcased both his finishing instincts and his quick thinking.

He took advantage of Aaron Greene’s excellent pass to break the Drogheda defense and sent a shot into the far corner. The official League of Ireland X feed has a video of the goal that is posted below.

Rovers won 2-0 on the road thanks to the goal. They’ve had trouble finding consistent play as a unit this season, but they intend to move up from their present third-place standing.

What’s being said about Johnny Kenny

Kenny’s development has impressed Rovers manager Stephen Bradley, who recently said that he appears lot better than he did during his 2023 loan period.

“This year, he’s been a different animal. In training, his mentality off the field, and when he’s like he is right now, you wouldn’t want to play against him because he has a little bit of everything,” the man stated.

Kenny talked about his recent communication with Celtic as well, saying that while the Bhoys haven’t been in touch much, Darren O’Dea has been in contact more this year.

I don’t think I heard once last year, said the striker. It is little better this year. I’ve heard more this year from another Irishman who has filled that kind of position, Darren O’Dea.

But there isn’t much interaction. My goal is to improve as I perform.

How come they would contact you if you aren’t performing? On the pitch, the 20-year-old is now conducting himself appropriately, and if he amasses a noteworthy amount this year, it will be acknowledged.
