They have apparently been investigating the free agent market as a result, but they have suffered a setback in that regard as Belgian shot-stopper Koen Casteels is expected to relocate to Saudi Arabia this summer rather than Scotland.
However, they have now been presented with a fresh chance to secure an intriguing possibility in goal.
Goalie preparing his belongings This coincides with reports from Turkish sources that Celtic is preparing to make a four-year contract offer to Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir.
After joining the Red Devils as Andre Onana’s backup, Bayindir has only played once under Erik ten Hag and now appears to be leaving the team.
The shot-stopper is “preparing to leave” the team this summer despite still having a contract that pays him £35,000 a week through 2027, according to the source, which states that his time in Manchester is “coming to an end” because he didn’t find “what he was looking for” at Old Trafford.
Now, Celtic are willing to step in and take him to Glasgow, and they are reportedly planning to offer him a four year deal at Celtic Park to get a deal over the line and see him restored to the no.1 position.
Although a price is not stated, Bayindir is unlikely to fetch much more than the 5 million euros he was signed for a year ago, which may work to Celtic’s advantage.
Although it is unclear if a deal can actually be made, Bayindir will undoubtedly have a price given that Manchester United has placed nearly every player up for sale this summer.
