An unjust comment confession made by a BBC pundit about Rangers star James Tavernier

According to Kenny Miller, Jack Butland and James Tavernier may be leaving the Rangers this summer. Despite his recent setbacks, Miller thinks Tavernier should remain captain if he decides to stay at Ibrox.

Additionally, he believes that some of the criticism leveled at the English defender is unjust. On May 29, at 18:16, BBC analyst Miller stated to Clyde One Superscoreboard: “There’s a chance that Tavs won’t be at the club, in which case someone else will have to take the lead. “I am aware of the obvious ones there, like if Jack Butland is still there and whether Rangers turn down offers from a variety of teams.

“I think that during the height of the fight, the captain ought to be present. I feel that Tavernier receives an unreasonable amount of criticism, if he is still employed. For me, he remains the captain if he is still there.

James Tavernier must improve defensively

Tavernier has been an important member of the Gers, especially in terms of his offensive contributions, although his defense has frequently come under fire.

His performances have at times left gaps in Rangers’ defence, making the team vulnerable to opposition attacks.

He even made a critical mistake against Celtic in the Old Firm game—something someone with his caliber of experience shouldn’t have done. This is one area of his game that he needs to work on if he wants to stay on the squad.

It is important to acknowledge, though, that the 32-year-old’s contributions to the team’s offensive performance are immeasurable. Rangers should not remove James Tavernier from his captaincy.

He has been one of the most productive defenders in the club’s history thanks to his outstanding ability to score goals and create opportunities for his teammates.

Tavernier’s captaincy is not the only factor contributing to the challenges the Gers are facing.

One of the most contributing factors has been the club’s inconsistent recruitment. The team’s performance has suffered as a result of their inability to get players who can perform at a high level on a regular basis.

Better players are obviously needed this summer as the team tries to bolster its roster and raise its level of play in both domestic and European contests.
