That would essentially free up that left-wing position for Neto to take immediately, though there would be some debate in that regard given Cody Gakpo’s final-season performances.
But one of Neto’s greatest assets is also his adaptability; the Portuguese striker can play from the right as well and may eventually take Mohamed Salah’s spot as a backup or perhaps a replacement.
He would be a perfect fit for the Reds’ tactical play because of his straightforward style of play, amazing speed, and flair.
In comparison to Johan Bakayoko of PSV, who has also been connected to a move to Anfield, he also poses a far greater direct goal threat.
This season, he has managed 13 direct goal involvements for Gary O’Neil’s team despite multiple injuries.
It’s possible that Neto’s terrible injury history will deter Michael Edwards and Liverpool from making a move for him. Since the beginning of the 2017–18 season, the forward has shockingly missed 123 matches.
