Todd Cantwell and his Rangers colleagues had a day to forget when they were defeated by Celtic in the Scottish Cup final. But things appeared to be swiftly deteriorating for the playmaker at the national stadium before to Adam Idah’s late Celtic winner, which came just as he was hooked by Philippe Clement. The Rangers star had a furious discussion with Hoops defender Greg Taylor, who was booked by referee Nick Walsh for a shove on Cantwell in the second half.
The Englishman was far from impressed and as he walked off the park at the national stadium after being substituted appeared to launch a tirade at Taylor – which saw the Rangers man also land a booking from whistler Walsh. However, some eagled-eyed fans reckon that things could have been even worse for Cantwell – with linesman David Roome appearing to pull out a red card following the flashpoint.
Following the final whistle, the 26-year-old returned to the ground and had words with assistant Roome before being escorted away by manager Clement. On X, some fans understood the midfielder’s emotions.
