AS BRIGHTON SHOW STRONG INTEREST, CELTIC IS SET TO DEMAND RECORD FEE FOR STAR.

HITC is aware that, if a club record fee is paid, Celtic may lose one of its important players this summer.

Current Scottish records show that the highest sale price is £25 million, which Celtic has collected twice: once in 2019 for Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney and again last summer when Al-Ittihad paid the same sum for Jota.

This summer, Matt O’Riley, a fantastic midfielder for Celtic who had another outstanding season leading the Scottish Premiership champions, could be a free agent.

This season, the Danish midfielder led the league in goals scored with an incredible 18 and added 13 assists.

Additionally, he contributed three assists in the Champions League. Naturally, this has piqued curiosity from other quarters.

European nightclubs circling Diego Simeone’s team is reportedly still interested in the Danish midfielder, who was reportedly being pursued by Atletico Madrid in January, according to HITC.

Although O’Riley is much sought after, Celtic would prefer to retain him. As far as HITC is aware, other English clubs have also asked about his availability for the upcoming summer.

It’s also believed that Bundesliga team VfB Stuttgart and French team AS Monaco have expressed interest.

O’Riley has had a breakout season for the Scottish team, and the loss of the Danish midfielder would be devastating for manager Brendan Rodgers, whose team has won both the league and the cup this year.

Premier League teams’ attention As previously said, Premier League clubs are also rumored to be interested in the 23-year-old Danish midfielder in addition to some of Europe’s best teams.

Three teams in particular are thought to be expressing the greatest interest: Brentford, owned by Thomas Frank, West Ham United, and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Both Unai Emery’s Aston Villa and Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United have previously had an eye on the midfield player, but as of right now, their summer transfer windows provide distinct objectives.

The Scottish team will have to spend the substantial money from O’Riley’s sale on quality successors for the 23-year-old.
