Saying that his old team “do talking on pitch,” the former Celtic skipper takes a shot at the Rangers.

The difference between his former team and their local rivals, according to Scott Brown, is that Celtic speak on the field.

Brown made this barely veiled jab at Rangers attacker Todd Cantwell.

A side of former Borussia Dortmund players faced off against a group of Parkhead legends on the former Celtic captain’s home field this past weekend in support of The Celtic Foundation.

As he explained why Brendan Rodgers’ team has had the advantage over Rangers this season—winning four of their five matches and completing a league and Scottish Cup double—the now-Ayr United manager demonstrated that he still has it in the press room as well as on the field.

“A lot of people talk in the media, post on social media, and create their own content on YouTube, TikToks, and other platforms,” Brown stated. “Our club’s strength is that they have always conducted their business in the park.

It is about the focus within the football team and the daily perseverance that matters, not what is going on outside.

“I believe Celtic will always hold that belief, no matter how far it is advanced—up to the 98th minute, for example.

Rangers appeared to have deflated as soon as Celtic scored the goal [on Saturday], and they never had any confidence that they could go back and score one.

Celtic had renewed energy, and you thought they could hold the ball once more.

“The boys gave a fantastic performance to win the cup final 1-0. “You don’t always have to play at your best, but you do have to be focused for ninety minutes, and Brendan’s team does that every time.”
