Adam Idah’s potential Celtics comeback is judged by Kyogo Furuhashi.

Adam Idah, a fellow striker for Celtic, is expected to pose a serious threat to Kyogo Furuhashi’s team if he decides to move permanently to Glasgow.

However, Furuhashi wants Idah to remain at Celtic. Since his surprise loan transfer from Norwich City to Celtic in January, Idah has been a huge success.

He scored a late winner against Rangers and came off the bench to replace Kyogo in the Scottish Cup final.

After the game at Hampden on Saturday, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers stated that he hopes to bring the Republic of Ireland international back to the team next season, citing him as the “catalyst” for the team’s success in the second half of the season.

It is estimated that the player would require a fee of approximately £6 million to sign a permanent contract.

Kyogo had another quiet afternoon at the national stadium this season, despite some significant goals in the closing weeks of the Premiership title battle.

Kyogo came under fire at times last season after failing to reach the heights of his previous two seasons at the club.

Kyogo would be happy to see Idah return to Celtic the next season, even though his inclusion in the squad would pose a challenge to his own place.

“As a striker and a colleague, I am really happy for him because he is doing a very good job,” Kyogo remarked. I believe that everyone wants him to stay. But in the end, he makes that choice.

“Nevertheless, we want him to stay.” Kyogo is happy that he and his teammates were able to persevere and finish an often difficult season with a league and Scottish Cup double, even though personally the season may not have gone as smoothly as he had wanted.

I felt like everyone fought for the whole ninety minutes,” he remarked. “We’re happy about it because in the end we got the result and we made everyone smile.”
