Chelsea wants to move for a £25 million French player, but they have to contend with West Ham.

With West Ham in the race, Chelsea is prepared to make a play for the £25 million Frenchman.

Before the transfer market reopens for business in the upcoming weeks, Chelsea has identified Bradley Locko, a Frenchman from Brest, as a target.

Chelsea is now without a manager after Mauricio Pochettino left the Stamford Bridge dugout earlier this week.

The Serie A star defender is also a target for West Ham United because of his strong play this season. The 22-year-old, who has started 33 Ligue 1 games for Brest this season and recorded three assists, appears to be attracting Chelsea’s attention.

Brest enjoyed an incredible Ligue 1 season, going third and earning a spot in the UEFA Champions League. Bradley Locko, a 22-year-old French full-back, was one of their many standout players during the campaign.

Chelsea needs a new defender

Chelsea has been keeping an eye on Locko since they are considering carefully whether to add a left-back to compete with Marc Cucurella and Ben Chilwell in the next season.

The news that Brest has put Boehly for sale and is accepting bids of up to £25 million has improved Boehly’s chances of winning the battle to sign with the France under-23 international. They think that by using his exceptional performances throughout the campaign, they may profit.

Locko was purchased by Brest for significantly less than £500,000 from Stade Reims last summer, and they undoubtedly anticipate a healthy return when he sells.

Several Premier League sides have watched him play at different times during the season, including Chelsea.

Locko would also be less expensive for Chelsea compared to other potential targets because his current Brest deal pays less than £9,000 per week and it doesn’t expire until the summer of 2027.

Locko would therefore probably not pursue a large salary deal.
