Motherwell has dismissed Liam Kelly, a reputed Rangers transfer target and former Scotland international goalkeeper, when his contract expired. After Kelly and other players were released, Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell said: “It’s never nice to see players leave the club, but I’d like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who is leaving.”

Celtic are set for a reunion with a club legend this summer with a pre-season friendly having already been confirmed. It was confirmed on Friday that the Hoops will face Ayr United on July 5th at Somerset Park.
The friendly will mark the opening of the Ayr United North Stand, which is managed by former Celtic player Scott Brown. Ayr finished sixth in the Championship last season. Celtic will meet Ayr at Somerset Park for the first time in 25 years, and it will be a convenient short drive for Hoops fans looking to watch their team in early pre-season action. Celtic won 4-0 over Ayr in their last League Cup meeting in 1999.
