Rangers Out On Loan Star Makes ‘Pure Finisher’ Claim

 

Rangers loan star Sam Lammers believes the role he has now is letting him be a ‘pure finisher’ and stressed he is benefiting from the FC Utrecht team playing so well

 

Lammers is repairing his name on loan at Utrecht following a disappointing first half of the season with Rangers in Scotland. He has been in blistering form in front of goal, netting 10 times in 18 Eredivisie games before scoring again in his team’s first Europa Conference League playoff match.

 

Rangers’ Lammers did not play as a center striker and was frequently used in the midfield rather than the attack. He believes he is benefiting from Utrecht’s play, which allows him to play the role of a ‘pure finisher’ with the team playing well to his advantage.

 

“I play deeper and am a pure finisher,” Lammers told Dutch magazine NU Sport. “As a result, I automatically score higher.

 

And the squad is performing well, which always helps.” Utrecht is attempting to reach an agreement with Rangers to keep Lammers until next season, while AZ Alkmaar is also interested in the attacker. It has been claimed that Rangers could give Lammers another chance in preseason, but it remains to be seen what Gers manager Philippe Clement believes.
