Rangers make Ianis Hagi transfer decision at Ibrox in a fresh update.
Rangers midfielder Ianis Hagi has been on the club’s transfer list and might make a historic move to Turkey with Galatasaray, according to Fanatik. According to the Turkish site, Hagi has been placed on the Ibrox sales list ahead of the summer transfer season, with Galatasaray interested in reuniting the 25-year-old with the club that produced his father Gheorge, one of Europe’s best players.
Hagi has not appeared under current manager Philippe Clement, having been loaned out to La Liga club Alaves at the start of the season by Michael Beale. However, Clement allegedly does not see the Romanian playmaker as part of his future plans for the next season, which has alerted Galatasaray to his impending availability. Rangers appeared to have uncovered a gem in Hagi, who, following a brief loan spell at the club from Genk in 2020, moved permanently that summer and soon became a regular under Steven Gerrard.
His combinations with Ryan Kent, Alfredo Morelos and Kemar Roofe helped break Celtic’s era of dominance and win the Scottish Premiership in 2021, but it’s safe to say he’s stagnated since.
Hagi’s appearances have decreased with each passing season, and he only appeared twice this season in the Scottish League Cup and Champions League before being loaned to Alaves. Hagi is thought to have fallen short of expectations in La Liga, and a move to Galatasaray, where his father is still adored, could be exactly what the 25-year-old needs to resurrect his ailing career.
