Rangers are among the clubs looking for a budding star, and the record holder has many fans.
Glasgow Rangers are one of several clubs interested in Stoke City starlet Souleymane Sidibé, who has a growing fan base in Europe. Foot Mercato reports that Rangers are interested in bringing the youngster to Ibrox and adding him to Philippe Clement’s team. According to FM, Sidibé has a large fan base that is just growing as he establishes himself at Stoke City and begins to make a name for himself. He’s been watched since he was 14, with Manchester City, Manchester United, and Liverpool all interested in the ‘precocious prospect’.
Three years later, his list of admirers continues to grow, with the Rangers currently in the running for the highly rated 17-year-old. That’s especially true following this season, when he became the first player born in 2007 to make his debut in the top two tiers of English football, as well as the second youngest player in Stoke City history. He is regarded as a true gem and future star, and the Rangers are interested in bringing him to Ibrox if possible. Philippe Clement’s club is one of numerous parties interested in a trade, with Chelsea, Juventus, Brighton, and Monaco all apparently keeping an eye on him.
Stoke, for their part, do not intend to let the child, who is the son of Potters star Mamady Sidibé, go cheaply and will seek a high amount for him, backed up by the fact that he is under contract until 2026. Whether Clement and Rangers can provide such a number to ensure his future destination is Ibrox remains to be seen, but they are in the running.
