While Fabrizio Romano announces the Ibrox transfer, Jefte leaves for Glasgow for his Rangers medical.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Rangers have reached an agreement to buy Brazilian left-back Jefte, and they will soon finalize their first summer acquisition.

The transfer guru writes on his personal X account on May 22 that the 20-year-old is headed to the Ibrox club to finish a medical before signing a deal.

APOEL’s refusal to renounce his loan agreement caused the January signing deal to fall through, but a summer agreement was reached at that time, and Philippe Clement will now have a new left-back in his lineup. He added, “Rangers are about to finalize an agreement to sign Brazilian LB Jefte, verified and underway!” “Remember, Jefte is en route to finish his medical examinations and sign a contract to become a new member of the Rangers.”

The Scottish side readyed everything for the summer window, as was disclosed in January. Rangers arriving at the scene swiftly nearly though Glasgow’s season isn’t nearly halfway done, Clement has already made the roster adjustments he promised.

When Borna Barisic’s contract expires at the end of the month, it appears that he will join Trabzonspor, hence a replacement left-back for Ridvan Yilmaz will be required.

The club has taken a close look at Jefte and has followed him ever since their interest in him increased in January.

That’s encouraging because it means that they have kept their word and brought him in early. Nils Koppen and Clement can now focus on other areas of the pitch that require reinforcement.

Undoubtedly, there will be a plethora of new arrivals, and following the Scottish Cup final, definite departures will also be announced, so stay tuned for lots more information in the weeks ahead.
