Cortes breaks Rangers’ quiet amid the Real Madrid transfer dream.
In an interview with Colombian sports journalist Pipe Sierra, the 20-year-old attacker discussed his immediate future, dreams, and the injury that kept him out of contention for the last stretch of this year’s Scottish Premiership season.
The interview, conducted in Spanish and transcribed by the Rangers Review, provides insight into the player and his current predicament, including whether he intends to extend his time in Glasgow or return to his parent club Lens.
“Me and my agents are keeping an eye on the ongoing negotiations,” Cortes said of his next plans. “We’ll see what happens. I’m talking to my agents, Lens, and Rangers. Lets see what happens. I arrived and started to do things very well and well unfortunately the injury came and I had to stop for three months but I thank God I am already in the recovery process.”
Sierra then inquired about the forward’s dream move, to which Cortes responded: Real Madrid. He went on to say, “I’ve wanted to play for Real Madrid since I first started playing soccer. “My dream is to join Real Madrid. With hard work and sacrifice, I believe it is possible at some point. “They are my teammates.”
