Rangers are urged to ‘definitely’ accept transfer offer for key player as $24 million question looms ahead of clearout.

Rangers transfer whispers are likely to begin, and one exit has been discussed by a club hero. A Rangers icon has declared that it is time for change at Ibrox, and James Tavernier could be one of the players who leaves. Since joining Glasgow in 2015, the club captain has been a key performer, becoming the UK’s highest-scoring defender while wearing blue. Another year without a Premiership title has increased attention on him and his team, which includes senior players like John Lundstram and Borna Barisic who are out of contract.

Former footballer Derek Ferguson believes there is a $24 million question mark over Ibrox. If a huge offer comes in for the Rangers captain, he believes it may be time for a change.

When asked if Rangers should accept a hefty offer if one came in, he told Ibrox News: “Absolutely, there’s no doubt about it. He has been a wonderful servant, and his stats are fantastic, but defensively, he has received criticism from the supporters.

“If he does get a good move he goes with our best wishes and hopefully we can make a few bob out of him. It is what it is with Tav we appreciate him but I just think if we get a few bob for him we take it, goes with our best wishes, but sometimes it’s just your time, your times up, it’s time to leave.

“We need young, eager players who want to show themselves, and perhaps Philippe Clement will have the ammunition to go out and encourage them to come in. But that is the $24 million question, right? Will there be financial support for him? “There’s a few too many that have been there too long and it’s time for change.”
