At Celtic Park’s “brilliant” Trophy Day celebration, Ally McCoist is described by Jeff Stelling.

Many memorable moments have been made by Celtic’s Trophy Day festivities for the players, supporters, and particularly Brendan Rodgers.

The Celtic manager faced a lot of strain in his first season back at the club. He had to contend with a unique media narrative, win over the supporters, and cope with terrible injury problems that seriously hurt the team’s ability to defend the Scottish Premiership title.

But after Celtic defeated St Mirren 3-2 at Parkhead, Rodgers overcame all that hardship to win Celtic’s third championship in a row, setting off an incredible day of festivities.

At Celtic Park, Jeff Stelling responds to Santa Claus. But right before the trophy was handed away, there was a hilarious moment when Santa Claus appeared to deliver the award to the podium.

The history of this gesture is well known to Celtic Park supporters, but when Ally McCoist told Jeff Stelling about it this morning on talkSPORT, the two hosts couldn’t contain their laughter at the legendary Celtic Park moment.

Stelling: “Just tell me how Celtic received the Scottish Premiership trophy from Santa Claus, please.” McCoist: “Well, you’re aware of the tale? The narrative is very funny.

They jeered Santa during a time when they weren’t doing so well. Stelling: “Did they heckle Santa?” McCoist: “I mean, if you are booing Santa Claus, what kind of stage has your club got to be at?”

Stelling: “Excellent.” McCoist: “But they made the right decision, and Santa returned for the big day.” So well done to them.

The addition of Celtic and the fans making fun of themselves for booing the big guy at Christmas was a nice touch to the festivities.

That gesture, like the farewell Joe Hart received on this Trophy Day, will live on for a very long time. It was undoubtedly one of the most sentimental ones we have witnessed at Celtic in a while.

While Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is putting up his wish list for the Celtic board for this summer’s transfer window in order to get ready for the Champions League group stages of next season, Santa may return to Lapland and enjoy the remainder of the year.
