The Whites head into the play-off final with Southampton in high spirits after their 4-0 win over Norwich City.
Leeds United can defeat Southampton in the play-off final next week because they have their “mojo” back at precisely the appropriate moment of the season.
After defeating Norwich City 4-0 on Thursday night to secure their spot at Wembley, Daniel Farke’s team put an end to any discussion of anxiety.
The Saints would follow the next day, having defeated West Bromwich Albion 3-1.
The Whites dominated the Canaries, showing no signs of the nervousness that had dogged Leeds in the last weeks of the regular season and the play-off first leg at Carrow Road.
Their preparation for Sunday’s final under the Wembley arch is sound, and former Premier League goalkeeper Shaka Hislop thinks Leeds might have the advantage since momentum is so important.
The former goalkeeper for West Ham and Newcastle United has been keeping an eye on Leeds’ development for ESPN in the US.
Although he expressed concern about how Farke’s team concluded the season, he now has no reason to doubt the team.
For the majority of the season, Leeds challenged Leicester and Ipswich before losing ground towards the finish, he told ESPN FC.
That gave me a small amount of concern. They played incredibly well and seemed to have found their mojo in the second leg against Norwich, though. Leeds, in my opinion, is marginally superior to Southampton.
They succeed in their task, but not quite. Southampton defeated Farke’s team at St Mary’s earlier in the season, and they also triumphed over Leeds on the last day of the regular season.
