Edinburgh’s east end witnessed a poignant moment when Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart faced St Mirren in his final game at Parkhead.
Even though Hart will have the chance to win a trophy at Hampden against Rangers in his final professional game this coming weekend, it’s safe to say that he will never forget what happened yesterday.
The Green Brigade honored the great influence of “Super Joe Hart” under Ange Postecoglou and Brendan Rodgers with an incredible spectacle that they presented after the players returned for the second half.
When Hart was eventually replaced for Scott Bain in the 88th minute, Parkhead stood up to cheer him off the field in a few poignant moments that touched the Celtic supporters’ emotions.
Not surprisingly, he and Callum McGregor also raised the Scottish Premiership trophy, sealing an incredible day for all parties and continuing his fairytale finish.
Joe Hart posts an emotional message on Instagram regarding yesterday.
Hart wrote an impassioned letter on Instagram addressed to Celtics fans, saying that one of the highlights of his professional career occurred yesterday and that even now, 24 hours later, it still leaves him “speechless.”
Captured clutching the Green Brigade microphone and sharing a handful of additional images, his response on the social media network said what followed: The family @celticfc… Sincerely, I’m not sure where to begin.
I believed that after giving it a day, I would be able to put into words how you made me feel yesterday, but as I sit here, I can’t.
I am sincerely honored and touched by the send-off you gave me at your lovely home. All I can say is that it was one of my best days ever as a professional.
Please know that my family and I will always be devoted to the football team, and that I will one day return as a supporter. However, for the time being, we have work to do and a busy week ahead of us.
Thus, once again, thank you, and let’s get to work. Celtic will truly miss Joe Hart when he retires. Few players during his time in Glasgow have passed through the Parkhead entrance and become Celtic quite like Hart has.
The former Manchester City player has had a career ending that will be remembered for years to come because to his leadership, crucial saves, and obvious passion for the team, all of which have been an absolute pleasure to watch as a fan.
It still seems strange sometimes. Considering that Hart is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers of the 2010s, he has spent three years here.
Nevertheless, he has fully committed himself to the team, establishing a strong bond with the fans and solidifying his legendary status—something that history will look back on with great affection.
