The Ibrox Women were just minutes away from pulling off an incredible title victory, so Jo Potter’s team had to defeat the Jaguars and pray that their Old Firm opponents faltered just fifteen miles away.
With a brace from Kirsty Howat and an incredible goal from Tessel Middag, Gers put further pressure on Celtic by racing into a 3-0 lead at the break.
In the second half, Olivia McLoughlin scored a fourth goal as the Gers made it very evident to the opposition throughout town.
At Celtic Park, the result raised tensions as Hibs kept upping the ante on the hosts.
After much wringing, Celtic finally gave the 7,624 spectators something to cheer about when Gallagher scored her 50th goal of the year in the final minutes to secure the championship, setting off raucous celebrations at the end of regulation.
