Before the first game of the season, the Pittsburgh Steelers will almost definitely add a starting boundary receiver.
It’s likely that a new player will be added, whether through a trade or free agency.
There appears to be another name in the running, even though Courtland Sutton and Treylon Burks look like the most sensible choices.
Former Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas is presently a free agent, and the Steelers have reportedly spoken with him, according to Zachary Smith of Steelers Now.
During his amazing two-year run in 2018 and 2019, Thomas caught 125 and 149 passes, respectively, and was named an All-Pro twice.
With 149 receptions in 2019, he set a record for the most receptions in a season in the NFL.
Since then, injuries have kept Thomas from doing much. He has only participated in 20 games since 2020.
He caught 39 receptions in 10 games the previous season. The Offensive Player of the Year for 2019 turned 31 recently.
