Joe Hart fights back emotions following his championship victory, saying, “I don’t want to blubber.”

Following Celtic’s stunning 5-0 title-winning triumph over Kilmarnock on Wednesday night, an emotional Joe Hart gave a speech on the field.

The 37-year-old, who announced his retirement at the conclusion of the current season, thanked the Paradise supporters for their support since he joined Celtic in the summer of 2021.

Since then, the seasoned stopper has taken home six titles, five under former manager Ange Postecoglou and one under Brendan Rodgers. Following Wednesday night’s match that sealed the Scottish Premiership, the stopper seemed emotional.

“This is everything,” he declared. What a difficult season it has been. We became closer, and I made the decision to end the day. I wasn’t sure if anyone would grasp what I was saying at the time, but being here with these men means the world to me.

“We’re here to win trophies, and I’ve loved every minute of this club,” the member said. “I won’t and I can’t sum up the feelings.

There are no words to express how much this means to my family and me. It has struck me so deeply that it means everything.

“I’ll hopefully be comfortable about talking about it soon, but I don’t want to be blubbering on the football pitch.”

As they spoke with Celtic TV while standing next to each other, the defender praised his teammate for being both a player and a person. “I’m honored to call him a friend at this point,” Taylor remarked.

“He’s been amazing and an ambassador for the club the way he handles himself, but, honestly just as a person I’ve been so honoured to get to know him.”

After that, on Saturday, Celtic will meet St Mirren at Celtic Park, and they will be awarded the Scottish Premiership trophy for the third year in a row.

Following that, Celtic and Rangers will have a full week to prepare before facing off at Hampden in the Scottish Cup Final 2024, which is the sixth and final meeting between the two rival teams this season.

Hart remarked afterwards, “I’m feeling extremely grateful and extremely proud,” outside Celtic Park. I adore this location, you all, and the boys. “What a direction to go. And isn’t there still one more to go?
