Rangers supporters have little choice but to accept Sutton’s dig.
Chris Sutton fires an early jab at Rangers as Celtic win the Scottish Premiership title.
Chris Sutton has taken a swipe at Rangers after Celtic won the Scottish Premiership. Brendan Rodgers’ side were crowned champions after defeating Kilmarnock 5-0 away on Wednesday (15 May).
And Sutton wasted little time taking a shot at the Gers via X (15 May). The former Celtic star commented, “Congratulations to Brendan Rodgers and Celtic on yet another title. “High acclaim for Joe Hart, Matt O’Riley, Callum McGregor, and James Forrest. “Repeated winners who do their talking on the field.”
Despite their side not playing, it has proven to be a miserable evening for Rangers supporters.
Sutton has wasted little time rubbing salt in relatively fresh wounds and while his social media post made no mention of the Gers, the underlying message was overwhelmingly clear.
Unfortunately, Rangers supporters have little choice but to accept Sutton’s dig. It has been a fairly positive season, and at moments it appeared that Philippe Clement might lead Rangers to their first Scottish Premiership since the 2020/2021 season. But it was not to be, as Celtic won their third title in a row, capping off one of the most intriguing Scottish title battles in years.
