Spurs should take a cue from Arsenal and give Ange Postecoglou some time, as the manager has already won more points than Mikel Arteta did in his rookie campaign.

The Tottenham boss has demonstrated Spurs are improving under his guidance.

Tottenham was undeeated and blew Burnley away when they played them back in September. Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs transformation was being more and more talked about.

In May, the team’s management finally acknowledged last week that his team is still not a Champions League team, proving that reality has long since set in.

Although Spurs are unlikely to play in the Champions League, as center back Cristian Romero noted in his program notes, the fans may find solace in the fact that Postecoglou has amassed more points (63) in his first season in charge than Mikel Arteta (61) in his first full season at Arsenal.

To see what may be accomplished in the long run with patience, they need only look at their opponents in north London.

On Saturday, the hosts faced a determined Burnley team that finally lost the match while they were searching for a victory that would have kept them in the Premier League for a few more hours, so they had to exercise patience.

Spurs did not put on a particularly strong performance, but anything is better than a four-game losing streak, which is why the celebrations when Micky van de Ven scored the game-winning goal eight minutes from the end were understandable.

Spurs have now recovered 25 points from losing situations in the top division under Postecoglou.

While this suggests that the team has issues with allowing goals early on—they have trailed in their last five league games—it also demonstrates their tenacity.

Spurs’ prospects of finishing in the top four are dependent on Aston Villa earning at least three points on Monday night. Dejan Kulusevski is focused on his team defeating title-chasing Manchester City on Tuesday.

“Winning is all I want.” It’s always a terrific game, and my attention is on Manchester City. Anything may happen if we win,’ added Kulusevski, who tied the score at the last minute in the team’s December rematch at the Etihad Stadium.

Since the stadium’s opening in the top division in 2019, Pep Guardiola’s City team has not scored at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Now would be the perfect time to break that duck, with an unprecedented fourth Premier League title on the line.
