Willie Collum has come under fire for his allegedly “angry” interactions with players during Celtic vs. Rangers’ derby. For the pivotal last league match between the clubs on Saturday, the seasoned whistler was in control. He also had a red card call and a penalty call at Celtic Park, among other significant decisions. Mohamed Diomande fouled Matt O’Riley, and Collum gave Celtic a spot kick. The referee was told to examine the incident on the pitchside monitor, but he upheld his decision. Collum then scheduled John Lundstram to take on Alistair Johnston in a reckless challenge. Collum upgraded the decision to a red card following review. However, commentator Kenny Miller objected to Collum’s “angry” interactions with the players.
