Although the Dallas Cowboys dismissed wide receiver Martavis Bryant on Wednesday, other teams are allegedly still considering him.

Bryant did not play in any games after signing a contract with the Cowboys in November. The former player for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Oakland Raiders hasn’t participated in an NFL game in five and a half years.

After finishing second on the team with eight touchdown receptions that season—still a career high—the 32-year-old Bryant was chosen by the Steelers in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Despite participating in just 10 games, Bryant ranked fifth in targets (48), catches (26) and receiving yards (549) and still managed to score eight touchdowns.

The Clemson graduate finished with perhaps his finest numbers in 11 games (five starts) while serving a four-game suspension for breaking the league’s drug usage policy. In addition to six touchdown grabs, five carries for 37 yards and a touchdown on the ground, Bryant concluded that season with career highs in targets (92), receptions (50), and receiving yards (765).

He was the No. 2 player for Pittsburgh.
Bryant received a second suspension for the whole 2016 season due to yet another infraction. In 2018, following a strong season with Pittsburgh in 2017, he was dealt to Oakland. After committing another infraction of the substance usage rules, he was suspended indefinitely by the Raiders after playing eight games.

Week 10 of the 2018 season marked Bryant’s final game with Oakland.

He later played with the Vegas Vipers of the XFL and bounced around in the CFL from 2021 to 2023.

Less than a week after his reinstatement in November, Bryant signed with the Cowboys.
