James Tavernier’s “remarkable” influence at Rangers has been lauded by Chris Sutton, but the full-back’s defensive skills remain a source of uncertainty for him.

Tavernier has surpassed his 2023–24 season total of 25 direct goal involvements with 17 goals and 9 assists in 34 Scottish Premiership games this season.
Despite being an admirer of the Gers captain, Sutton feels that the defensive side of his game needs work.
