The Celtic defense must move the ball more quickly since opponents are able to identify weaknesses.

Tash Flint was putting in a lot of effort to get into space and staying upfront a lot more than he did at Hampden from the first whistle. I believe she has a preferred style of play when playing with an attacking partner because she made fun of Murphy Agnew on a few instances, probably for not holding the line when she was pressuring the goalkeeper.

Hello, Celya Barclais. Her skill on both the attack and defense is quite impressive; I’ve been saying this for weeks now. While the opposition has the ball, she drops into the backline to make it four at the back, gets back for clearances, and cuts inside to advance the ball for her teammates.

At times, our defenders exhibit excessive tardiness when pursuing the ball and making choices. This may even be the recommended way for them to play, but I felt I should bring it up because it always seems to work against us when we play against a team that presses hard, like City or the Rangers. We can get into significant difficulty when opponents figure out that our weakness is a fast forward.

Speaking of Glasgow City, they played a great game yesterday night pressing Celtic and putting a lot of pressure on the defense. We must be at our best since they exploited our weaknesses to their full advantage, even though it didn’t totally benefit them. The Rangers will follow suit.

Amy Gallacher was amazing when she got back into the action, totally recovered. As usual, she passed the ball really well, but she was also battling for possession in lower places, which gave Flint room to stay higher and maintain the line. Gallacher seems like a perfect fit for Elena’s role as an attacking midfielder.

When playing against City, Lucy Ashworth-Clifford was outstanding. We cannot afford to lose this talent, so I’m thrilled that she has a new contract. She repeatedly forces the ball into the area, demonstrating her exceptional ability to create opportunities. Not only that, but she also has the power to defeat her opponent by either finishing the shot at the last second or by knocking it past them. She also has a great deal of fight, persevering in pursuing balls down the wing and refusing to back down from the opposing defender.

At one point during the game, Tash Flint gave Shen Mengyu some guidance, and it seems to have been helpful! Shen didn’t misplace challenges, chased the ball less, and won it more yesterday. She was really on point. On her 100th game for the team, she had an amazing performance overall. Her passes were good, and she was caught a few times.

Now that my little analysis is out of the way, let’s prepare for Monday’s game, which is the most significant Glasgow Derby of the season: Celtic vs. Rangers.

Bank Holiday Monday, May 6, is their SWPL matchup against Celtic. With both teams level for points, the winner will take the top spot, with a draw keeping Celtic at the top. Those who would like to attend can purchase tickets right now on the official Celtic website. Additionally, Sky Sports will live stream the match.
