Dak Prescott comfortably fielded questions on a wide range of topics.

Prescott has expressed his desire to continue playing quarterback for the Cowboys.
Asking about the return of his close friend to the team, his thoughts on the Cowboys draft, and his first few weeks as a father, Dak Prescott handled queries with ease.

The good news is that everyone in the house is getting a full night’s sleep.

But without, you know, The Question, it’s hard to go too further into the current status of the Cowboys and everything Dak these days. That happened in the middle of his interview with media at Riders Field for the charity Reliant Home Run Derby.

Has he made any headway in his conversations regarding an extension?

After pausing briefly, he grinned.
“Not necessarily,” Prescott said. “Obviously still conversations. Aware of what Jerry (Jones) said and everything he said is dead on, communication has been back and forth.

“But yeah.”

What else is there to say? Prescott has made it clear he wants to remain the quarterback of the Cowboys. Jones has said that’s his intention.Nevertheless, he finds himself in the last year of his agreement. There’s little rush right now to get it done if the two parties couldn’t come to an agreement by early March, when the club would have been able to take its usual approach to free agency by reducing his salary budget hit for the upcoming season.

The commencement of the regular season is the next major stress point.

The goal of the offseason is to set up the foundation for a strong performance during the regular season. Prescott clearly displayed more faith in the running back room than those outside the organization do, and he praised Ezekiel Elliott’s comeback.
Indeed, Prescott said, “a lot of faith.” “You put a man like Zeke in a room that’s really deep in that regard. Though the group is undoubtedly younger and less experienced, I believe that’s precisely why Zeke is a good addition—what he can provide those men in terms of support and guidance for their careers.

“That will expedite the process for them and improve their ability to assist this team on the field more quickly.”
And how about a draft class that saw the team select two offensive lineman who could play right away from Day 1 in Tyler Guyton and Cooper Beebe, after taking a first-round pick?

Prescott remarked, “You get excited.” “You see how large and eager a guy like Tyler Guyton is, so I’ll add that. Get him in there with Zack Martin and the other men so he can follow them.

I’m excited about that, too, Beebe. Go get another man in the third round who can assist us, please.
