The Los Angeles Lakers’ elimination from the playoffs has left LeBron James with an unclear future once more, but the franchise is apparently willing to make the one move that could ensure LeBron’s return.
In the fifth game of their first-round playoff series, the Lakers lost 108-106 to the Denver Nuggets, bringing an end to their season. After the game, LeBron stated that his priorities were his family and he would not comment on whether he anticipated rejoining the Lakers in 2024–2025. Additionally, James stated that his son Bronny is “trying to decide if he’s going to go back to school or enter the draft.”
The Lakers are eager to give 19-year-old Bronny the chance to play alongside his father if he decides to get pro. As per a report from The Athletic’s Sam Amick, Jovan Buh, and Shams Charania, the Lakers are “extremely willing” to assist LeBron in realizing his aspiration of playing in the NBA with his son.
Bronny played 19.4 minutes per game across 25 games with USC last season, averaging just 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists. He experienced a significant setback prior to the year when he went into cardiac arrest, but he has since recovered completely.
Given the lack of competition following his underwhelming first collegiate season, the Lakers may find it simpler to select him in the draft.
LeBron is rumored to be interested in signing with an Eastern Conference team and drafting Bronny, although he would almost definitely rather play alongside his kid in Los Angeles.
