The St. Mirren victory decision was deemed “an absolute disgrace” by referee Nick Walsh, which Rangers hero destroys.

The match official was accused of making a poor call by booking Gers goalkeeper Jack Butland in Paisley Referee Nick Walsh has come under fire from Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland for his “terrible decision” to caution him during Sunday’s 2-1 Premiership victory against St Mirren in Paisley, according to Kris Boyd.

The Sky Sports analyst criticized the referee for his decision to book the Light Blues No. 1 in the second half following a forceful collision with Toyosi Olusanya of Saints during an attempted clearance.

As Saints attempted to get a late equalizer, Butland was compelled to sprint off his goal line. The Germ goalkeeper reached the ball first and collided with his charging opponent. Olusanya attempted to cling onto a long pass over the top.

After the coming together, referee Walsh stopped the game, presumably to check on Olusanya’s condition. However, the referee subsequently gave Butland a yellow card and gave the home team a free kick.

Former Ibrox star Boyd, who was stunned by the result, called it “an absolute disgrace.” Many spectators inside the stadium believed Butland had defeated Olusanya due to his momentum. “I have to add that the choice to book him afterward was a complete embarrassment,” a furious Boyd acknowledged. “He arrived and resolved the issue; Olusanya encountered him and Jack Butland was booked accordingly. Sincerely, I thought that was a bad choice, thus I wouldn’t have loved to see that ball end up in the back of the net from that free-kick.

At the SMiSA Stadium, Philippe Clement’s team narrowly defeated Dundee 2-1 to maintain pressure on rivals Celtic, who played Dundee later in the day.
