Man City suffer Ederson injury blow during Nottingham Forest game

After being removed during halftime of Manchester City’s match against Nottingham Forest, Ederson became the newest injury concern for the team.

Throughout the first half, the City goalie was unimpressive, missing several opportunities to convert corners.

Ederson was also fortunate to escape a penalty after he mishandled a cross and ran into Willy Boly. However, the ball had already been headed out of play, so referee Simon Hooper gave City a free kick instead of awarding a penalty.

After that incident, Ederson remained on the ground for medical attention. When play began, he appeared uneasy and was clutching his left shoulder. Just before halftime, he dropped a cross again and was relieved to see Murillo somehow miss the mark.

After Phil Foden and Ruben Dias were sidelined with illnesses at halftime, Stefan Ortega replaced Ederson, giving City another injury concern. City had already taken the lead thanks to a header from Josko Gvardiol.

After suffering a muscle injury, Erling Haaland returned to the team, but he was merely a reserve.

The last of Ortega’s 16 City appearances this season came in the team’s FA Cup semifinal victory over Chelsea. Regardless of Ederson’s fitness, he is expected to participate in the championship match against Manchester United the following month.

Guardiola praised the German goalkeeper when speaking about Ortega last month. The City manager praised “the way he’s played in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup so far.” even during his match versus Dortmund in the Champions League.

Even though we were qualified, we were competing for the top spot. He is a really good goalie. Outstanding.”
