Cowboys are still attending to the biggest “needs” on their roster.

The Oklahoma offensive tackle was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys after they traded down from No. 24 with the Detroit Lions. With the 29th overall selection in the first round, Tyler Guyton addresses a critical roster need. With the arrival of their future LT, they will be able to secure Tyron Smith’s job for the foreseeable future.

Still, they have a great deal of work ahead of them. On Day 2 of the 2024 NFL Draft, the choices they make in the second and third rounds might have just as much of an influence as their choice of Guyton. They must succeed with these selections, and obtaining that additional third-round pick (73rd overall) improves their odds of acquiring a rookie player of starting caliber.

With all of that in mind, let’s take a look at who the draft analysts are predicting the Dallas Cowboys select with the 56th, 73rd, and 87th overall picks today.

56. DALLAS COWBOYS: Jonathon Brooks, RB, Texas

73. Dallas Cowboys (from MIN via DET): Trevin Wallace, LB, Kentucky

With the additional third-rounder the Cowboys picked up by trading back in Round 1, they should be able to find linebacker depth. Here, they get the athletic Wallace.

87. DALLAS COWBOYS: Dominick Puni, G/C, Kansas

Dane Brugler predicts the Cowboys find their replacements for Tony Pollard and Tyler Biadasz, as well as add much-needed depth at linebacker with their next three picks. Looks as if Dallas will continue to target their top roster “needs”.

56) DALLAS COWBOYS: Florida State’s RB Trevor Benson

Although Benson has an NFL physique and impressive athleticism in all explosiveness categories, he lacks the patience to fully utilize his physical gifts because he is overly preoccupied with his physical prowess.

73) DALLAS COWBOYS: DI RUKE ORHORHORO, CLEMSON (VIA DETROIT FROM MINNESOTA)

A high-floor player at defensive end or defensive tackle, Orhorhoro is a versatile defensive lineman. But in order to be more than just a rotational player, he needs to improve his technical pass-rush abilities.

87) DALLAS COWBOYS: WASHINGTON’S WR JALEN MCMILLAN

Despite the presence of players like Rome Odunze and Ja’Lynn Polk on the team, Washington persisted in giving McMillan priority in its passing approach. He has a strong floor as a WR2/3 due to his subtleties.
