The Scottish Sun claims that a number of first-team Rangers players, including Fabio Silva, will probably be leaving in the summer.
On April 25, the newspaper stated on its website that Nils Koppen has an assignment to complete this summer: providing Philippe Clement with the materials he desires for the reconstruction.
A few weeks ago, the Gers were the favorites to win the league, but now they will require Celtic to lose by points.
According to the source, “Several first team players are expected to be on their way out, and the Belgian manager will work closely with recruitment chief Nils Koppen ahead of summer to identify players who could improve the side.”
“Wolves loanee Fabio Silva is probably going to go back to his parent club, and the Gers don’t have the option to bring Abdallah Sima in permanently from Brighton.”
Since the Rangers moved, Fabio Silva hasn’t proven why he should be there.
Since being on loan to Ibrox, Silva’s performance has been lackluster.
Though he started off promising, he has not been a major goal threat for the squad and has had difficulty adjusting to Scottish football.
This lack of impact on the field may have made Rangers reconsider investing in him permanently.
Money could also play a significant role in this decision as given the club’s financial constraints, they may not be in a position to make a big-money move, especially if Silva’s loan spell does not justify a high transfer fee.
Moreover, Silva’s performance history at his previous clubs may also be a concern.
Despite his talent, he has failed to live up to the hype surrounding his initial transfer fee to Wolves and has battled to maintain consistency in his game.
In January, Fabio Silva left Wolves to join Rangers on loan.
Due to his past success, Gers might be reluctant to sign a long-term contract and instead look at other choices that might be more cost-effective and have a quicker effect on the team’s output.
