Mohamed Diomande of Rangers declares, “I don’t play basketball,” in reference to fracturing his thumb against Celtic.

silverware following his thumb break, which sent his season reeling. Arriving from Nordsjaelland in January, the 22-year-old Ivorian midfielder has made an impact at Ibrox and established himself as a regular in the Rangers starting lineup.

He inadvertently broke his thumb during the 3-3 draw with Celtic earlier this month, though. Both the 0-0 stalemate with Dundee and the 3-2 loss to Ross County were missed due to his need for an operation. Though wearing a plaster on his hand to preserve his thumb, he returned for last weekend’s 2-0 Scottish Cup victory over Hearts.

Diomande stated, “I feel a little bit of pain, but it’s OK.” “I cracked it in the Old Firm match. What caused it to occur? That, then, is the query! Really, I can’t recall how it happened! I assumed I could continue playing once it happened. I attempted to play during the second half, but I was in excruciating pain.

“Not playing basketball makes me very frustrated when I miss games! My feet are my playthings. I was unable to move, though, I had to admit. Not being able to assist the other boys on the team was disheartening. “I gave it my best shot [against County and Dundee].” We attempted to work out a way for me to participate, but after a scan revealed that I had broken my thumb, surgery was necessary. But now that it’s back in place, I can play again.

Diomande claimed that the chance to receive awards was one of the motivators when he signed. Rangers will play their Old Firm rivals in the Scottish Cup final on May 25. With five games remaining, Rangers sits three points behind Celtic in the Premiership title battle. By the end of the following month, Diomande is dying to wear a medal of victory around his neck. “Yes, that sounds ideal for me,” he went on. That was among my motivations for joining this group. I’ll put up my best effort to benefit the team, improve myself, and advance my teammates. To do that, I’m going to put in a lot of effort in the gym and make sure to start every game, giving the squad my all.

We must win again in our upcoming match against St. Mirren. However, our performance against Hearts is what defines our level. Nobody can match us when we play that way, as we are aware. We’ll just make an effort to continue performing at the standard that everyone has set for us. We also have high standards for ourselves. We’ll exert every effort to ensure that those levels are not lowered. The squad has new life once Diomande returned, and he said, “That’s why we have players on the bench.” They provide us with energy, and we also rely on them.

Whether you are starting or not, the team is working hard, and we know what needs to be done. When new players join the team, they always do very well because they will push and work hard for the team, just like the other men did. It’s all team-oriented. We shall keep advocating for one another because we think the best in one another.
