TeknoZil reports that John Lundstram and Borna Barisic are close to departing Rangers after Trabzonspor agreed to terms in principle with the Ibrox pair.
They now seem to be leaving Ibrox in a free transfer to Turkey after failing to sign new contracts.
According to a story published by a Turkish news agency on Thursday, April 25, formal announcements on the moves of Lundstram and Barisic are expected shortly.
According to reports, these transfers have been made even though Philippe Clement, who values Lundstram’s versatility, has apparently tried his hardest to retain the former Sheffield United midfielder.
Should the Rangers allow Barisic and Lundstram to go? Lundstram’s management has stated that Rangers was interested in signing him, but he appears to have decided to go elsewhere.
He has participated in 31 SPFL games so far this season, helping to assist on four goals while going scoreless himself. This is not shocking considering that under Clement, he has played defensive midfield.
He has played in more than 2600 minutes for the Light Blues and has contributed significantly to their championship run.
He has proven to be a great businessman after leaving Sheffield United on a free transfer.
After joining from Croatian league Osijek in 2018, Barasic became a vital member of the team and remained so for six years.
After just 15 starts this season [FotMob], the 31-year-old, who split left back responsibilities with Dujon Sterling, is ready for a change of scenery.
It is safe to assume that Clement does not want the two to leave Ibrox, but since they appear to have made up their minds, the Gers can wait for the news.
