Ranger Steven Gerrard ‘prepared’ James Tavernier offer as the Saudi rumor mill roars to life.

Al-Ettifaq, the Saudi Pro League team led by Steven Gerrard, is rumored to be interested in signing Rangers captain James Tavernier

this summer. Despite the high-profile arrivals of Gini Wijnaldum, Demarai Gray, Jack Hendry, and Moussa Dembele last summer, the former Ibrox and Aston Villa manager has had a lackluster season in the Middle East. During the spending frenzy, Jordan Henderson also arrived. However, he left after just six months to go back to Europe. Though he still has three years left on his contract, the Liverpool great seems to be preparing for another summer makeover to improve the team’s performance.

Though rumors of a reunion with Tavernier have been circulating in Saudi during the past few months, it seems that they have gone into overdrive. It is currently being reported by a number of publications that a bid is “prepared” with the intention of acquiring the Rangers Hall of Famer this summer.

According to Slaati, Gerrard made a “recommendation” for the deal in order to finalize an agreement as he prepares to shuffle his team this summer. According to reports, management “agreed” to the boss’s requests despite the team having a terrible season and finishing the table in seventh place

Gerrard expressed his respect for the long-serving captain before departing Rangers in 2021, saying: “People will talk about the assists and the goals but I judge James differently.” As soon as he opens the door, I make assumptions about him. What is he doing? Does he assist me in establishing the criteria? Is he always acting in a professional manner? Does he set a good example? Is he assisting the boys? Is he ensuring that everyone is participating and that the culture endures?”

After leaving, Tavernier discussed his boss, saying, “We’ve accomplished so much together.” We have improved as a team, held each other to higher standards, and, most importantly, became better individuals and players.I’m sure that the club is in a better place.
