Five of the most comparable Dallas offensive comparisons for possible selections

Draft week is here! The NFL’s biggest offseason spectacle is about to commence, with 250 hopefuls about to embark on a professional football career. Let’s examine five offensive players that have ties to Dallas and find the one who most closely resembles former Cowboys players.

OT Tyler Guyton (Oklahoma) Doug Free is the best substitute.

COMPARING SIZES:
Guyton is 6’7″ tall. 3/4
322 pounds in weight
Arm Length: 34 1/8″
Size of hand: 10 1/4″

FREE; 6’6″ IN HEIGHT
324 pounds in weight
Arm Length: thirty-five”
Size of hand: 10 1/4″

ATHLETIC COMPARISON: Guyton: 40 yards in 5.19 seconds; vertical: 34 1/2 inches; breadth: 107 inches

Free: 40 Yards; Vert: 30″; Broad: 111″; Time: 5.19 seconds

This is more than just a right tackle thing, both players compare very closely in terms of what they do best. Firstly, both are big bulky players that tower over the competition, but both have incredible mobility for being such big guys. Both play with very good balance and are quick to get into their stance off the snap.

In terms of weakness, both struggle with technique, especially footwork. The other issue is playing a little too upright at times leading to bad leverage issues.

During his ten years in the NFL, Doug Free was a pleasure to work with and did a decent job of holding the line. When the Cowboys offensive line was at its best in the 2010s, most people saw him as their weakest link. However, things would appear that way when you were playing with three All-Pro lineman.

The degree to which these two resemble each other in terms of size, athleticism, and playing style is uncanny. Both leap out of the gate and swiftly enter the path stems. Both have the necessary speed to outrun pursuing opponents when playing in the open field as playmakers.

Additionally, the problems are comparable. Both lack strength in the same way and are marginally undersized for the blocking portion of the game. Can both perform in the NFL as “Y” tight ends? dubious for each of the players. But Hendershot’s time in Dallas would come to an end if the Cowboys selected Sanders with a choice.
