Nottingham Forest launches a scathing assault on the top referees due to penalty allegations.

After being denied three penalties in their costly 2-0 Premier League loss at Everton, Nottingham Forest has launched a scathing attack on the top referees. Ashley Young had been lucky to avoid a handball call, with VAR officer Stuart Attwell supporting the referee. Forest was incensed that Anthony Taylor had not given them spot kicks for his challenges on Giovanni Reyna and Callum Hudson-Odoi. “Three extremely poor decisions – three penalties not given – which we simply cannot accept,” the relegation-threatened team said on X minutes after the final whistle.

“Before the game, we informed the PGMOL that the VAR supports Luton, but they chose not to alter him. Many times, our patience has been put to the test. “NFFC will now evaluate its alternatives.” The Professional Game Match Officials Limited, or PGMOL, has been approached by the PA news agency for comment.
