Wolves Will ‘For Sure’ Sign a New Striker, Says Fabrizio Romano

Gary O’Neil has led Wolverhampton Wanderers to great success this season, but a striker would take them to new heights.

Wolverhampton Wanderers, who many predicted would finish in the bottom half of the Premier League this season, have surprised many by fighting their way into the top half. Now, Fabrizio Romano exclusively told GIVEMESPORT that the west Midlands club is actively looking to add a new striker to the lineup. Many predicted that Wolves’ six-year Premier League tenure would end due to their financial difficulties in the summer and the departures of Nathan Collins, Joao Moutinho, Matheus Nunes, and Ruben Neves, among others. At the club, there were few big additions, with the exception of Matheus Cunha, whose loan period was extended.

However, Gary O’Neil has worked wonders at Molineux, and with Wolves only seven points outside of a European berth and mathematically safe from relegation, the team is looking forward to improving its recruiting in order to secure a European spot next season. Additionally, Romano revealed to GIVEMESPORT in an exclusive interview that the team will look to add a striker to O’Neil’s roster for the upcoming campaign.

Targets have been linked with Wolves already, and this summer will surely see more spending power given that the club complied with Financial Fair Play regulations, which saw them spend less last season.

Given the injury woes to Hwang Hee-Chan, Pedro Neto and Matheus Cunha in spells throughout the season, alongside Sasa Kalajdzic’s never-ending sideline spells and Fabio Silva’s lack of form which saw him loaned out to Rangers, this has given Wolves a general lack of depth in their striking options – something that O’Neil aimed to remedy in the January transfer window.

With additional transfer rumors expected to surface during the summer, it might be an incredible transfer window for supporters in the Black Country. Pedro Neto has been connected to leaving the team, but Yuri Alberto has been mentioned as a possible move to Molineux. Romano: Wolves ‘Need’ a Striker Before the Next Season An attacker is needed to strengthen Wolves’ offensive line.

Speaking exclusively to GIVEMESPORT, Romano said that Wolves’ attempts to bring in Armando Broja in January have shown their application to securing top talent and it is an area they will look towards ahead of next season. He said:

“Wolves will go for a striker for sure. It’s something that they need and they want to do. We know the application they have.

“For example, Armando Broja is the player they wanted to bring to the club in the final days of the January transfer window, but Fulham were faster and with a different opportunity to accept Chelsea’s conditions for the loan deal. This is why the deal didn’t happen with Wolves.
