The Scottish FA has revealed the appointments for the refereeing crew and video assistant refereeing for this weekend’s Scottish Cup semifinals between Rangers vs. Hearts and Aberdeen vs. Celtic.
Aberdeen, who are without a manager and are destined for a poor finish in the lower part of the Scottish Premiership this season, travel early to Glasgow on Saturday to play Brendan Rodgers’ Hoops at 12:30 p.m.
Don Robertson is going to be the intermediary. Steven Traynor and linesman Graeme Stewart will support him, and David Dickinson will serve as the fourth official. Alongside assistant Andrew McWilliam, Greg Aitken will be in the VAR control room at Clydesdale House.
The second semifinal between Rangers and Hearts will be supervised by Steven McLean and begins at 3 p.m. on Sunday. At the national stadium, Dougie Potter, Craig Ferguson, and Kevin Clancy will run the lines. Kevin Clancy will serve as the fourth official. Assisting Willie Collum on VAR responsibilities will be Sean Carr.
Rangers has defeated the Jambos in every matchup they’ve played this season, and the Tynecastle team has never prevailed over the Ibrox team at the national stadium.
In their chase for hardware, all four teams will be trying to secure a spot in the season’s final exhibition match next month.
